Successful applicants will join a unique, multi-disciplinary public health program with emphasis in urban health research, applied public health, health policy, and community applications. The Center for Leadership in Disability (CLD) is one of the nation's 67 University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDDs). The CLD's mission is to translate research into community practices for individuals with disabilities and their families.


The CLD resides in the Mark Chaffin Center for Healthy Development (MCCHD) within the School of Public Health at Georgia State University. The MCCHD is a University Research Center with a strong focus on real world effectiveness and implementation research, reflecting research-to-practice and practice-to-research. MCCHD faculty are engaged in research, service, and instruction to promote health and well-being, increase meaningful inclusion and quality of life for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and to prevent and address child developmental delays, child maltreatment, and sexual assault.


Position Description
The Center for Leadership in Disability within the School of Public Health is currently seeking outstanding applicants for the following position(s):



Sponsor-funded Research Assistant Professor, Center for Leadership in Disability, Health Policy & Behavioral Sciences:

CLD invites applications for full-time, non-tenure track, sponsor-funded Research Assistant Professor. This position is designed to advance research and implementation related to early childhood education and early intervention (ECE/EI), with the goal of increasing positive outcomes among individuals with disabilities, family members of individuals with disabilities, and the ECE/EI workforce. Responsibilities will include contributing to ongoing research and capacity-building projects, as well as developing and maintaining a program of externally funded research and participating in service activities within the Center for Leadership in Disability, as well as within the School of Public Health, the institution, and the community.This sponsor-funded faculty position will focus on disability, early childhood education, and early intervention, with emphases on statewide program implementation/evaluation and policy research.

Salary is negotiable, based on qualifications and experience. Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States at time of offer.


Required Experience



Required Education
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Public Health, Psychology, Education, or a related discipline from an accredited university with training or experience in research and implementation of statewide programs, at the time of appointment.


Preferred Qualifications/Experience
Applicants with health and educational policy expertise are encouraged to apply.
