The Managing Director for Creatives will lead Voice Up's national
creative arts initiative, discovering and nurturing artistic voices
dedicated to social justice advocacy. This visionary leader will
build and oversee a comprehensive program that harnesses the power
of art, poetry, music, dance, and performance to drive meaningful
social change, with a particular focus on engaging college and
university communities across the United States.Key
Responsibilities**Program Development & Leadership**
- Design and implement a national creative arts search program that
identifies emerging artists committed to social justice
advocacy
- Develop strategic partnerships with colleges, universities, and
arts organizations to expand program reach
- Create evaluation criteria and selection processes for
identifying exceptional creative talent
- Establish mentorship and development programs for selected
artists
- Oversee program budget and resource allocation**Campus Strategy &
Engagement**
- Lead the development and execution of Voice Up's national campus
engagement strategy
- Build relationships with university arts departments, student
organizations, and cultural centers
- Create campus-specific programming that resonates with diverse
student populations
- Organize campus events, workshops, and performances that showcase
Voice Up artists
- Develop strategies to integrate social justice dialogue into
creative programming**Creative Direction & Curation**
- Guide the artistic vision for Voice Up's creative initiatives
- Curate performances, exhibitions, and multimedia
presentations
- Ensure artistic excellence while maintaining focus on social
impact
- Foster collaboration between artists across different
disciplines
- Develop platforms for artists to share their work with broader
audiences**Team Management & Collaboration**
- Build and lead a team of program coordinators and creative
professionals
- Work directly with the Founder to align program initiatives with
organizational vision
- Collaborate with marketing, communications, and development
teams
- Manage relationships with external partners and stakeholders
- Mentor and support emerging artists within the
program**Qualifications**
Currently enrolled in an institution of higher learning.
Or, recent alumni with strong community connections.
Or, Bachelor's degree, Master's preferred in Arts Administration,
Fine Arts, Social Justice, or related field
2+ years of experience in arts administration, program management,
or related field
- Proven track record of developing and scaling creative
programs
- Experience working with higher education institutions
- Demonstrated commitment to social justice and advocacy
- Strong network within the arts and social justice
communitiesSkills & Competencies

- Excellence in relationship-building and stakeholder

- Deep understanding of contemporary social justice issues

Conditions
- Remote with some travel
- Flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends

Equity stake in the organization. The founder of J Ellington is
setting aside 33% of the corporation's equity to be split evenly
